History

The Belgian society is the youngest constituent of EBS, and was formed in August 1992, when gardeners, nurserymen and representatives of our botanical gardens met and decided that we should have a national society. The Belgian national bamboo collection, and the official home of our society, is at Bokrijk Aboretum, where we will also establish a documentation centre next year. In 1995, we hosted the EBS annual general meeting.
